The Martin3 has a spacious cockpit which sits two persons comfortably side by side. The cockpit’s comprehensive control panel has been fitted in such a way as not to interfere with visibility or comfort, both on the ground and in the air.The cockpit has an easy access opening at the front, assisted by gas shock absorbers. Four fixture points and a specially designed joint ensure a hermetic seal.
To avoid altering the centre of gravity, the luggage/storage compartment is located behind the seats.
The Martin3 is adaptable to engines of between 60 and 100 HP. The sound and fireproofed engine compartment is accessible through a folding hatch above the centre of the wings.
The engine compartment has enough space to hold the parachute, and the corresponding fixture points are provided.
There are two entrances for air cooling located behind the side windows, maintaining the compact size of the fuselage section.
There is a 40 litre fuel tank and two optional tanks which allow for the storage of either 90 or 130 litres, depending on the choice of tank on the wing, offering the possibility to cover over 1500km.
The landing gear is designed to function even in adverse runway conditions, with its hybrid carbon and glass crossbow, combining optimum longitudinal flexibility with sufficient rigidity to absorb braking force. The front wheel has rubber shock absorbers.
The 12.4m wingspan of the MS100 model, together with the trapezium wing plant and laminated streamlining NACA 643-618 allows for a 23/1 gliding coefficient, making the craft suitable for thermal flights with no engine power. Large flaps, which are operated electronically from the control panel, can be altered to select angles of –5º for a 180km/h cruise speed in the MS100 model, to +50º for landing on short runways where a more aerodynamic braking effect is required.
The T-shaped tail rudder ensures high aerodynamic performance and smooth manoeuvrability. A dynamic trim tab ensures stability and the desired cruise speed can be easily selected with a simple switch on the control panel.
The Martin3 is the ideal choice for the pilot who is looking for a low maintenance light aircraft with a capacity to fly comfortably at speeds of up to 200km/h. Its highly resistant structure (+6G –4G), composed of composite materials (carbon, nomex, kewlar and epoxy makes it corrosion free.
The aim behind the design of the Martin3 is to provide a modern craft with high quality features and low initial and maintenance costs.
The Martin3 is the ideal craft for pilot schools, surveillance, air photography and enjoyment. Its features are superior to those of traditional light aircraft, and offer low maintenance, economy and low ULM speed performance.
